Benji and Bruskin 40
“If you can’t sing good, sing loud”
Benji Reckless returns to the IBattleTV ring with Bruskin 40. The duo go up against two of the loudest and most aggressive battlers in the game Saint and Dough. The quote above seems apt as in the twins take an approach to battle rap that seems to do well with their respective fan base, loud, aggro bars with little substance. Their first round they go for the complex bar delivery of telling Benji and Bruskin that they are going up against “real goons” and then proceed to develop into a well constructed bar of “you really think you are an important piece that fits, nah you are a corny piece of shit”. As their writing quickly develops into much higher quality they begin yelling each line and getting into the faces of Bruskin 40 and Benji with aggressive lines like “is you ready Bruskin listen, you not too convincing, I’m proud teddy Bruskin blitzing through defenses, you defenseless.”. The masterful work of rhyming his name, with his name and defenses with defenseless is top notch.
As far as the writing goes from Bruskin 40 and Benji you can expect a scheme over copy machines, xerox uterus and it neatly ties in cult classic office space reference in disrespectful fashion regarding the mother of the twins. Their writing about clones and being beside oneself is nicely executed. The womb mate and not knowing which twin was actually wanted was a nice quip. Many notable bars throughout the first, second and third from Benji and Bruskin 40. There were some bars from the twins for sure but the writing definitely fell off at times and their stage persona’s carried them.
The battle was entertaining with a very one sided yelling match versus a more carefully developed writing process. Don’t let me be the only judge, check out the battle yourself and watch twin loud guys vs two guys who can write well. Battle rap is a preference sport/art and I prefer that you see this one for sure!
