An artist is at the constant critique of society as a collective. Their persona is judged, their lyrics are examined, their style is evaluated, nothing is left alone. An artist must exhibit an enigmatic quality of perfection or rarity that allows them to be separated from the masses and the homogenized art below. These artists must create what we want to hear in our subconscious but has not been brought into existence yet. These two artists have done that, they have made music that we knew we wanted to hear but hadn’t heard yet. The picture they paint is something we see together.

The Kill The Beat contest was an opportunity to gather emcees, producers and fans of hip hop to evaluate who should be pushed towards that limelight. A networking opportunity and a way to expand fan bases of every artist involved. The producers music the helped earn a winning spot were Swiffy Beats and E-Jacobs. They created the backdrop for the emcees to work on. Both solid artists in their own right. You can find music from E-Jacobs here and Swiffy beats here.

The contest was within half a point so two very talented emcees were chosen. The first was the highest rated track and that was created by Walt Deez with Me, and the second winner was Stoney BlueFireFlame with a self-titled track.

Walt Deez

Walt Deez is a well known veteran emcee of the state of New Mexico and is an Albuquerque native with a bigger than regional flow/persona. His track titled “Me” was done over a beat by E-Jacobs. Walt Deez is one of those artists who is over qualified for the job but is a humble man of the people. Hear his winning track here.

Stoney BlueFireFlame

Stoney BlueFireFlame is an artist that has made his home in Albuquerque, NM. Originally coming from Jonestown, Mississippi and born in Chicago, Illinois he brings a Southern and Midwestern style to his New Mexico fanbase. He has a bravado that boasts the ability to write a track that is self-titled, and his track does not disappoint. His track was produced by the phenom Swiffy Beats.
