Parked Car Conversations
“Parked car conversations are lowkey unofficial therapy sessions.”
Music, art, film these mediums of expression are holy cornerstones of society. Society thrives on productivity and generation of resources, but where does society go to escape and where do we find solace and peace when our work day is done. There was very heavy talk about essential jobs or careers during the pandemic and during this time there was a deluge of art being created. The offensive part of the essential conversation is we had to endure this shutdown of our world and the powers that be would state what tasks were needed absolutely despite the advertised dangers of a global pandemic. No one spoke up for the artists, creators and how can we turn our backs on what gives us hope, faith, compassion, evokes an emotive response and brings us joy? For a short moment the world saw what it would be like if we left cars off the streets, parking lots empty, nature and parks undisturbed with people at home creating. These were the true essential jobs those who create for the sake of self expression and those who share their love with the world.
There are artists who perform at a high level in one aspect and others who perform at a moderate level at multiple aspects of artistic creation. Then there are those who seek the highest form of their artistic self. This is one such artist. AO Fnl. This artist is a sound engineer, a producer, a musician by way of guitar, a singer and this artist demands more out of art. Due to this demand he can be seen as a disgruntled artist instead of an aficionado. Despite this he creates, and he creates art for those who appreciate it. Such is the life of an essential worker, and with this he has dropped very deep and personal tracks on Parked Car Conversations volume 1 and 2. These tracks whether they aim to be therapeutic and as personal as they feel is something you would have to ask AO Fnl himself but for those listening there are passages, bars and lyrics that exhibit a deep care for the art that he creates and with it it relates to the listener on a level that few aim for and achieve. They highlight his voice, they highlight a dark musical composition that is not aggressive or highly energetic which seems to be a trend in hip hop and r&b as of late. These tracks focus on the nuances and minutia, where others miss the mark AO Fnl highlights his strengths in these moments. Parked Car Conversations Volume 1 is a short 4 song EP that is a journey in and of itself. The last track Something to Believe In is buzzing with an energy that leaves you wanting to hear more. Luckily for listeners the second volume dropped shortly afterwards in October of 2023. This longer 11 track project features a wider range of singing and also features Mxna Lxsa Gang’s, Tut The God, who is a well educated, well rounded and exceptional artist as well. So much of this work is waiting for a meaningful and intent listener. This is your opportunity to hear art in a raw form from an artist who prizes their work highly and hopes that you will as well.
